Cheat Peppermint Snowball Cookies

With the weather taking on a frosty edge, I thought these delightful treats would be a wonderful cookie for us to try. Ready to bake?

 

 

Ingredients:

1 package refrigerated sugar cookie dough, room temperature
½ tsp peppermint extract
1/3 cup crushed candy canes, plus more for garnishing

 
1.Preheat oven to 350F
2. Crumble cookie dough into medium sized bowl and mix in peppermint extract,           1/3 cup Peppermint candies and ½ cup powdered sugar.
3. Drop dough by rounded teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.
4. Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
5. While the cookies are still warm, roll them in the remaining powdered sugar.
6. Garnish with remaining crushed candy canes.

(Ducking) Oh my! (gasp and duck) Mine appear to have (dodge to the left) started a snowball fight! (Cries out, face covered in cookie). Hurumph. Allow me a moment to deal with these delinquents while you enjoy the sweets of your labors.
